It's now widely recognized that diverse teams are smarter, make better decisions, and are able to solve problems more effectively. Yet, the tech sector still lacks diversity.
So how do we bridge the gap? We decided to take a step forward and promote coding skills to a more diverse range of people.
What: The Coding for Diversity Night is a 3-hour, FREE workshop where people from diverse backgrounds can learn basic coding skills and explore what it's like to be a web developer in a safe, welcoming environment.
Who: We encourage people who identify with underrepresented groups in STEM disciplines to join this event. That being said, everyone with no coding experience is welcome to apply!
How to participate: Seats are limited. To participate, you need to send a short application on this page. In partner code, write "NY Tech" and you'll be automatically accepted :)
