Bruce Niswander, Director, Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship, NYU-Poly — Named as one of Crain's "People to Watch in Silicon Alley," Bruce is head of innovation for NYU-Poly and director of its three business incubators. He also searches for possible partners to help them commercialize their products and services. Companies ensconced in the NYU-Poly Varick Street Incubator have raised a total of $20 million.
Daria Siegel, Director of the Alliance for Downtown New York’s Hive at 55 — Daria Siegel serves as Director of the Alliance for Downtown New York’s Hive at 55, the largest coworking facility in Lower Manhattan. Since joining the Downtown Alliance in 2008, Daria has launched and managed the Hive at 55, which in just over one year has grown to host hundreds of members and helped to spur business development and growth amongst its members. In her role, Daria oversees the Hive’s budget and grant applications, marketing and social media outreach, and forges strategic partnerships with sponsors and organizations. She previously served as the Downtown Alliance’s Director of Research and Planning. Prior to joining the Downtown Alliance, Daria spent two years as a fundraiser for the New York Botanical Garden in The Bronx. Daria received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Urban Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2004 and a Masters of Urban Planning from New York University in 2008. She lives in Brooklyn.
Natalia Arguello, Director, NYDesigns Natalia is director of NYDesigns. NYDesigns supports and promotes design entrepreneurs from all backgrounds and stages of growth. Natalia's experience running her own design studio provides firsthand insight into helping other design entrepreneurs. As NYDesigns Director, Natalia oversees all strategic planning and programming, curriculum development, grants, marketing and sales, and grant-funded programs.
Matthew Shampine, Co-Founder, WeWork Labs WeWork is New York City's first innovation co-op in SoHo. WeWork provides 50 of New York's most talented community members with the essentials, and then leaves the rest up to them. They also provide the members a network of mentors to help people take their projects/products to the next level.
Charles Kemper, Managing Director, ER Accelerator — Charles Kemper is an experienced entrepreneur and seasoned investment professional. He is presently an advisor to numerous technology & media startups in the New York area as well as an investor in various growth-oriented companies. Until recently, he was a Principal with Steelpoint Capital Partners, a multi-stage venture capital firm with offices in San Diego CA and New York NY. From 2004 to 2009, Steelpoint made various investments ranging from $3 to $30 million in leading venture-stage and growth-oriented companies with a focus on digital media, software, communications, and consumer products. Earlier, Charles was a co-founder of a Chicago-based digital media agency focused on web design and e-commerce systems. Charles holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.
