Jason Van Anden, Founder, Quadrant 2/Jotto
Jason Van Anden is an artist, inventor, and the creator of Jotto, which taps into the collective wisdom of crowds and redefines how we collect public feedback. Jotto invites anyone to effortlessly share their thoughts with voice, video, or text upon scanning a QR code. This simple process—scan, record, done—eliminates the hassles of cumbersome forms, email exchanges, or password requirements. Jotto transforms this feedback into comprehensive reports, complete with sentiment analysis and key insights, providing both qualitative and quantitative data that seamlessly integrates with existing tools.
Beyond his role as Jotto's creator, Jason is the CEO of Quadrant 2, a software development company celebrated for three impactful public engagement mobile apps dedicated to connecting people and catalyzing social change. Noteworthy among them is "I'm Getting Arrested," a panic button app crafted for Occupy Wall Street in 2011, allowing individuals to swiftly notify loved ones and legal representatives in the event of an arrest. Another influential app, "Mobile Justice," developed for the ACLU in 2012, empowers users to document and report incidents of police misconduct. Additionally, "WorkIt," the pioneering mobile AI chatbot introduced in 2016 for OurWalmart, aids workers in understanding their rights and accessing relevant resources. Jotto's roots trace back to these groundbreaking social justice apps.
Jason's creative endeavors aspire to steer us towards our better selves and have received extensive coverage in prominent publications like Wired, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.

Adam Haber, Co-Founder Trellus
As a small business owner and entrepreneur, Adam has real experience creating jobs, attracting capital, and managing complex budgets. He had a 22-year career as a commodity options trader, has owned three restaurants (one of which had a Michelin Star), and is a non-operating principal of ScanlanKemperBard, a Portland, Oregon-based commercial real estate merchant bank. Adam is also an active member of the Long Island Angel Network and has invested in and advised multiple startups.
In January 2021, Adam and his partners launched Trellus Same-Day Local Delivery & Marketplace. They recognized that the continued expansion of Amazon and big- box e-commerce giants on Long Island makes it increasingly difficult for local small businesses and downtowns to compete on a digital landscape. Meanwhile, the COVID pandemic has had lasting impacts on the retail industry. Consumers increasingly shifted to online purchasing as delivery wait times became shorter. Adam and his team designed Trellus in response to these challenges and prioritized the best interests of independent small businesses. Trellus provides local businesses the technology platform and reliable network of gig-drivers they need to offer on-demand, same-day delivery. These merchants are empowered to handle their own fulfillment, as the Trellus pricing model doesn’t cut into their profits per transaction and makes sense for their bottom line. In turn, local customers can get the items they need faster and more conveniently, from trusted local businesses in their community.
Currently, 90% of Trellus deliveries are completed in under two hours and 100% of deliveries are completed same day. There are more than 425 Long Island and Westchester merchants on the Trellus network, which is growing each day and they have successfully completed 85k+ deliveries. Trellus is planning to the rollout of a new Marketplace platform Q1 2024, where customers and merchants will transact directly.
As CEO at Trellus, Adam works closely with his team and embraces his role as a community developer. He enjoys spending time connecting with local entrepreneurs and looks forward to strengthening NY Metro’s small business community for the future.
